About Lupa

The name comes from lupa, Latin for "magnifying glass," and also the name of the she-wolf in Roman myth who raised two abandoned twins who went on to found Rome. Both meanings say something about how we work.

The magnifying glass part is literal: most early-stage companies already have something real worth noticing, but it just hasn't been focused, sharpened, or held up to the light yet. That's the work.

The wolf part is a little more aspirational. Lupa didn't build Rome. She just made sure the founders survived long enough to build it themselves. We like that division of labor. We're not trying to be the story, we're trying to make sure yours gets told, and told well enough to last.

We're not trying to found your empire for you. We're just here to make sure you don't get left in a basket in the woods.
